What is Total PSA?
Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) is a protein produced by cells of the prostate gland. Total PSA measures both free and protein-bound PSA circulating in the blood.
Why Total PSA Matters
PSA is the primary screening marker for prostate health. Elevated levels can indicate benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostatitis, or prostate cancer, and warrant follow-up with a healthcare provider.
