What is MDA (Malondialdehyde)?
Malondialdehyde is a toxic aldehyde produced when polyunsaturated fatty acids in cell membranes undergo lipid peroxidation (oxidative damage to fats). It's one of the most commonly used markers of oxidative stress.
Why MDA (Malondialdehyde) Matters
MDA reflects damage to cell membranes throughout your body. Elevated levels indicate active lipid peroxidation, which contributes to atherosclerosis, neurodegeneration, and aging. MDA can also damage proteins and DNA, amplifying oxidative damage cascades.
